Meet the Artist

Welcome to my art studio, Her Creation Station!

When people ask me what type of art I do, I always chuckle. 

Many of my friends would answer that question for me with, "What doesn't Pam do?!"

Hi, I'm Pam, and I am an artist in denial!

Ever had imposter syndrome, where you see others' art and say, "Now that's an artist!"?

I've never taken an art class. 

I was introduced to Ukrainian Egg art in 4th grade, a Hawaiian quilting workshop over 20 years ago, and a wood turning workshop in 2022. Otherwise, I'm self-taught! I have been doing egg art and quilting for over 30 years, and drawing since I was a child. I love making things with my hands, and I find inspiration from everything around me, often from nature and my hikes. Over the years, I have made pine-needle baskets, carved gourds, beaded, knitted afghan blankets, quilted using paper-piecing, hand applique, English-paper-piecing, crazy quilt, whole-cloth, machine, and hand quilting. I've painted rocks, felted 3-D figures and landscape scenes, done wood-turning, watercolor painting, mandala drawing, and thread art pieces. I love trying new things!

I'll look at someone's shirt in public and see the paisley pattern and think to myself, "How wonderful that might look on an egg, but in different colors." 

Teaching and sharing my art creations brings me such joy! Especially when people come to a workshop thinking they could never do something "like that." I've taught 4th-grade students to 80-year-olds the Ukrainian Eggs; preschool teachers, mandala wine bottles; and painted rocks to mom's groups.
